You will arrive at Windhoek International Airport in the early afternoon, where you will be met and transferred to Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel. Once checked in, you’ll have time to freshen up and settle in after your journey.

Later in the afternoon, we’ll gather for a full trip briefing where we run through the itinerary, logistics, and what to expect over the coming days.

In the evening, we’ll enjoy a relaxed meet and greet dinner, giving you the chance to get to know the group and ease into the journey ahead in a comfortable, social setting.

We head to one of Namibia’s most iconic landscapes and a personal favourite, the Quiver Tree Forest. These ancient trees create incredible opportunities for both landscape composition and astrophotography, set against granite boulders and wide open skies. With special access permits, we are able to work into the night and experience the exceptional clarity of Namibia’s famous dark skies. We will be staying at the Quiver Tree Rest Camp, perfectly located for sunset, night and sunrise sessions.

We then move on to Klein Aus Vista Lodge for two nights, a remote base surrounded by wide desert landscapes and home to the famous wild horses of the Namib. From here, we’ll explore the old abandoned railway station nearby, offering striking compositions under Namibia’s incredible night skies. We also visit the historic town of Lüderitz and spend time at Kolmanskop, where special access permits allow early morning and late afternoon entry for photography, giving us the best light and space to work the ghost town’s sand-filled interiors.

We then travel along the D707, my favourite road in Namibia, into the remote wilderness of Namtib Biosphere Reserve. This is a place defined by remoteness and vast, striking vistas, where free-roaming wildlife and oryx move across the open landscape, giving a true sense of scale and solitude. We spend 1 night here focusing on landscape photography and astrophotography, working with the incredible desert views and scattered camelthorn trees under dark, clear skies.

From Namtib, we travel through the vast and beautiful NamibRand landscape to Sossus Dune Lodge. Staying inside the park gives us early and late access to the dunes, allowing us to work in the best light possible. We focus on the iconic landscapes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, spending time in the afternoon in Deadvlei’s striking white pan and sculptural trees, as well as photographing the sweeping forms of Dune 40 and Dune 45 as light and shadow move across the desert.

We then travel north to Flamingo Villas Boutique Hotel, where we spend two nights right on the edge of the lagoon. Here, we can photograph flamingoes and pelicans just moments from the hotel, with constant opportunities for both early morning and golden hour sessions along the water’s edge.

We also dedicate a full day to exploring the wider Walvis Bay area, including a 4x4 excursion into the dunes of Sandwich Harbour, where towering sand formations meet the Atlantic Ocean in one of Namibia’s most dramatic coastal landscapes.

Before leaving for Spitzkoppe, we join the Living Desert Tour, a guided experience that reveals the incredible small-scale wildlife of the Namib Desert, from geckos and chameleons to desert snakes and other adapted species in their natural habitat. It’s a unique opportunity for macro and wildlife-focused photography in the dunes and surrounding desert terrain.

We then travel to Spitzkoppen Lodge, set at the base of the iconic Spitzkoppe mountains, where we spend time photographing this dramatic granite landscape and make use of the excellent access for night photography under clear desert skies.

Finally, we make our way back to Windhoek, where we stay at Okapuka Safari Lodge for our final night, relaxing in the surrounding bush and easing back into a slower pace after an incredible journey. This is a chance to reflect on the adventure, share stories and review highlights together. We gather for a final dinner, enjoying one last evening as a group before departing the next morning from Windhoek International Airport.
